Chapter 6 of this report tells us that the USMC and DOD are still lying to the people in service of our country at this base. They will have exacerbated the pulmonary exposures to this population many hundred-fold by using the sparging techniques in use to remove the contamination from the groundwater in the last 15 or 20 years. Every Marine and civilian or other branch of service or other types of government employees on this base will have continued to suffer from exposures in the danger range. this would be especially true for those housed nearest the strongest concentrations of TCE in groundwater and underground contamination sites. They have continued to lie about the danger from the first day of discovery until now - not just from water contamination, but mostly from air contamination and especially through vapor intrusion.

The numbers of effected are going to be much higher than they have admitted to thus far!

I bow to your wisdom..I have esophogeal cancer and am being treated for it in Boston. I have 12 more radiation treatments left and at least two more bouts with chemo before they will operate and take out my esophogus and sew my throat to my stomach..Esophageal cancer is number two on the suggestive list for PCE I was hoping this report would help me with the TCE contact as I understand that the Hadnot point area well got it all PCE TCE and benzene. Any bets the VA will turn down my claim that is if they ever get to it...what a struggle men who offer their all have to go through for some honest justice for a neglegently criminal act. If the Marine Corp had acted on the directive about the organic and inorganic things that were not allowed to be in the water supply for any base as directed by the Dept of the Navy in 1963 there is more than likely a chance I would not of been exposed or at least not as much..all they had to do was comply with that direct order and test the wells and that folks is criminal neglegence. I arrived at Lejeune that year

I have said from the first that I would like to see those responsible for these decisions be prosecuted, and I still would, but if it is a choice between putting off helping people even longer or going after the criminals then I choose the helping people option. The more that we talk about the crimes involved the harder the powers that be will fight to keep the whole thing obfuscated and hidden and the harder they will fight to make sure that the harm is never admitted to. Seeking justice is a luxury which we can ill afford so long as there are people who suffer impacts to the water and air pollution without receiving the aid and monetary help that our government owes to each of them. I, personally, would prefer a solution which both helps those in need and punishes those who caused it. I am also a realist and I know that it may take allowing those criminals to go free through legal amnesty in order to accomplish the greater good of getting people the help that they deserve NOW! Too many have died already without any acknowledgement of the wrongs perpetrated against them and the root causes of their illnesses.

This EPA finding is a huge step in the right direction. It will make it much harder for the VA to discount the direct connection between the contamination in the water and the air at Camp Lejeune and the illnesses suffered by those who have been on that base since the early 1940s when the petroleum leaks and TCE contamination started to be a problem.

I was just on the ward in Boston Jamacia Plains VA getting hooked up to my weekends Chemo when my nurse told me of the eight men in the room six of us were Marines. I went to those six beds and asked the question were you at LEJEUNE between the years of 57 to 87 they all were and only one had heard of the contamination and did not know what to do. I passed out what I had with me the VA Health bulletin 16-9 dated may 2010. This should be posted all over every heath clinic the VA has but is very much just not there. I am now starting a small campaign to have it placed in display where it can be seen. Two of my congressmen have implied an interest in this issue..We shall see. I am like the Mascot a bulldog

Again Jerry is on point.I have done countless hours of research on cancer,primarely NH(mantle cell)L.Cancers start by heathy cells mutating into cancerous cells.TCE and benzene are known mutagens in humans.These chemicals also supress the immune system,which most scientists agree,is a direct link to the formation of NHLs.

NHL is related to the immune systems, If you have Sjogren's Syndrome you have are at 44 times at risk to develop NHL. Other autoimmune diseases also increase your risk of forming other types of cancers.
